Ravenscraig in Aviemore is an ideal base for exploring with a wide selection of activities on offer. We have information on all the local activities and attractions at the guest house and are happy to help with advice and tips on days out.

Below is a small selection of places worth visiting in the Cairngorm National Park.

Rothiemurchus Estate & Loch an Eilein
Visitor Centre, ranger activities, land-rover tours, clay pigeon shooting, 4x4 Quad-biking, Pony trekking, Segway, self-guided walks, fish farm learn to fish and much more.

Cairngorm Reindeer Centre
A favourite with our guests! Visit the reindeer at the Glenmore centre and then join a guided reindeer experience in the hills and feed the wild herd whilst you learn all about these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. 

Highland Wildlife Park

A park where you can watch some of the native tundra animals; from bison, otters and grouse to the even more unusual tigers polar bears and snow monkeys.

Landmark Forest Theme Park and Dinosaur Kingdom
A 4 star attraction for the whole family. A great day out, with water slides, Tree Top Trails, mini roller-coaster, maze, climbing walls , adventure playground, Butterfly House along with a number of eateries and cafes. 

Strathspey Steam Railway

Runs between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill. Why not take the train to Boat of Garten and walk back to Aviemore along part of the famous Speyside Way (just over 4 miles). You can dine on the train on Wednesdays and Sundays (seasonal).  They also host the 'Santa' train in the festive season.

Aviemore's local brewery and just a 5 minute walk from Ravenscraig Guest House. They produce a selection of craft beers and there traditional Scottish recipes such as Black Gold, Wildcat and Stag are well established. Other contemporary brews such as Trade Winds, Autumn Nuts, White Lady and Caillie are available to sample and purchase.

Highland Folk Park and Museum -Newtonmore
A working, living, hands-on experience of Highland history, a popular attraction for young and old. Cafe and gift shop on site. (seasonal attraction)
