Ravenscraig House is lucky enough to be situated in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, giving visitors the opportunity to discover everything the mountain has to offer. Cairngorm Mountain is one of the most popular destinations for snow sports. Skiers and snowboarders have been enjoying the beautiful highlands location for more than 50 years. Whether you are a first-timer on the slopes or a seasoned adrenaline junkie, there is something for you at Cairngorm Mountain.
Cairngorm Mountain is home to the only funicular railway in Scotland, which transports visitors to the highest shop, restaurant, exhibition and viewing terrace in the country. The ski resort features 11 ski lifts, which serve 11 green runs, 11 blue runs, ten red runs and three black runs.
The longest of these runs stretches around 3km, and there are also several freestyle setups across the mountain. With a summit at 1097 metres and a vertical drop of 560m, Cairngorm Mountain offers skiing options for all levels.
Boasting 30km of runs, 11 lifts, on-site equipment hire and a freestyle park, Cairngorm Mountain has something for everyone. At the Ptarmigan Top Station, you can experience spectacular panoramic views across Loch Morlich, Cairngorms National Park and the beautiful valley below.
The beautiful scenery, excellent facilities and easy location are what brings everyone from ski enthusiasts to first-timers to the area. In 2019, a new snow factory was introduced to Cairngorm Mountain which provides base station level skiing, perfect for beginners.
This additional snow created helps to keep access from the low slopes to the upper and mid-station lifts. Some visitors choose to leave the crowds and ski lifts behind and explore the Cairngorms National Park, which offers endless skiing opportunities.
And, at the end of an adventure-packed day, you can rest and recuperate for another day of adventure at the homely Ravenscraig House.
